- Over 30 people have registered so far.
- AI Symposium, April 15

- The session will be recorded, and you don’t have to register to get the link.
- Ask an Expert, May 1
- Be sure to register if you plan to be one of the experts on the call.
- Tips from last time:
- Helpful to have links ready to grab and pop in chat.
- There were multiple questions about AV Preservation.
- Burn Simulation and Recovery Workshop
- Bonnie asked if we have a “save the date” yet. Elizabeth responded that David has confirmed the date, CARLI is working on getting contract signed and confirmation of agenda.
- CARLI will work with surplus for shelving units for the burn activity.
- Committee members should contact Shelby to find out how to donate materials to be used in the burn.
- Patti requested that we try to find a metal file cabinet to see how fire protective they can be.
- Many people on the committee indicated that they have materials to donate.
- Religious materials cannot be part of the burn. We can discuss other types of materials we don’t want to burn.
- Brainstorming ideas for 3 sessions for summer digitization series
- Bonnie: In discussions with colleagues about presenting on AV project proposal related to online exhibit “Picturing Lincoln.”
- Gabriel: In discussions with colleague about possible presentation.
- Liz and her colleague (digital scholarship librarian) are willing to present on their current project related to digitization of 3D models using low-cost mobile app; they have availability in July.
- Possible dates, lengths of program – let Nicole know
- One topic that came up with the series was accessibility. If anyone has ideas about this topic, there was interest.
- Other programming ideas:
- Program proposed by Shelby, student presenting on digital project and metadata – either standalone or part of summer digi series. Bonnie will follow up with Shelby about this.
- Illinois Digital Newspaper Collection – specifically for CARLI members; Bonnie will follow up with Shelby.
- Preservation Survey Results:
- 70 total institutions responded. That is a higher response rate than the last survey.
